The Dome of the Rock

A world war might be fought over the Dome of the Rock (to build the Third Temple in its place). Is this not behind the current "war against Islam"?

Called in Arabic Qubbat as-Sakhrah, the Dome of the Rock was built over a rock that is sacred to both Muslims and Jews. Hyam Maccoby claims that Abraham really did sacrifice Isaac; that Judaism began with a human sacrifice: maccoby.html. Might the Rock be sacred because Isaac is buried there?

(1) American governments, in taking on China and Islam, are following the blueprint drawn by Samuel Huntington in his book The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order.

We all need to think soberly before we continue down this course.

Do we really want to take on the whole Islamic world? Our support for Israel's expansionist policies, and its plan to build the Third Temple, which requires of demolition of the Dome of the Rock, will pit us against 1 in 5 of the world's people: tmf.html. Moslems will rally to defend it.

Taking on China will pit against an additional 1 in 4 of the world's people.

In addition, there are many Moslems within the West, and Chinese around the world.

The West needs to pause, breathe deeply, and reverse its current megalomania before much more harm is done. Despite the West's military dominance, desperate people from the third world will find a way to defend themselves against the West's offensive.

Here is an image of a report in the Sydney Morning Herald of September 26, 2000, that the Barak government was considering entrusting the Temple Mount to the UN as guardian:

On September 28, 2000, Sharon, to rule out that option, visited the Temple Mount with 1000 Israeli riot-police, sparking the violence that has escalated since.

Ernest L. Martin's book The Temples that Jerusalem Forgot disputes that the site of the Dome of the Rock is that of Herod's Temple. Martin says that the Temple Mount was actually the Roman Antonia fortress, which Herod named after Mark Anthony.

Martin's exhaustive analysis of historical records lays out the case for the rejection of the theories that the temples were on the site of Haram esh-Sharif. (3) Israel started the 1967 war. It attacked and sank the USS Liberty, a spy ship, to destroy the evidence that it started the war. Mark Bamford's book Body of Secrets reveals that the NSA (National Security Agency) had a plane in the air which obtained recordings of the whole event, including transcripts from the Israeli pilots showing that they knew exactly what they were doing.

Roland Perry wrote of the 1967 war in his book The Fifth Man:

Israel's Signals Corps cracked enemy army codes, intercepted messages and transmitted false ones, in much the same way that British Intelligence did against the Nazis in the Second World War. Israeli and Egyptian troops massed on either side of the border. Nasser delivered an ultimatum demanding the removal of the UN buffer force in Sinai. The force left. Nasser's troops occupied the

{p. 294} region of Sharm-el-Sheikh, which threatened to blockade the sea route to the Israeli port of Eilat. The move made war inevitable.

Israel's Intelligence readiness was now to be tested. The large amount of data gathered indicated how vulnerable and unprepared the Arab armies and airforces were. Once the Egyptians made their anticipated moves in Sinai, the Israeli air force mobilized and carried out pre-emptive air strikes. The Israelis boldly sent false messages about Egypt's success in Sinai to Jordan in order to draw that country into the conflict.

Professor Israel Shahak, recently deceased, wrote in his book Jewish History, Jewish Religion:

The Biblical statement about Solomon's borders is at 1 Kings 4:21. Archaeologists have not been able to find evidence that it ever existed (see The Bible Unearthed, by Israeli archaeologists Israel Finkelstein & Neil Asher Silberman): archaeology-bible.html. Yet it is the basis of promises that Jews will rule those lands again - at Genesis 15: 18, Exodus 23: 30-31, Deut 11: 24, and Josh 1:4.

Ari Ben-Menashe, a former Israel intelligence officer, describes in his book Profits of War how Mossad used Palestinians to assassinate its enemies:

De Gaulle, a good friend of Ben-Gurion's from their days in exile during World War II, quickly authorized the sale to Israel of a weapons-grade nuclear reactor with the technology for the development of a nuclear bomb.

Minister Without Portfolio Yisrael Galili, a leftwing powerbroker who directed the intelligence and security services, took upon himself with Ben-Gurion's blessing the cabinet-level supervision of the program. ... In a memorable speech after the groundbreaking for the supersecret Dimona nuclear plant, the usually subdued Galili stood up in a Mapai Party meeting and, with his chest proudly pushed out, declared, "The third temple is being built!".

The point is, in Israel, military force has a religious goal: Israel is a religious state. The Jews are a religion, not a race or a nation. And the response has been the creation of Islamic fundamentalism.

What price are we willing to pay? Most of the world's oil is in Islamic countries (Middle East, Central Asia, North Africa, Indonesia). Western retaliation might lead to coups against the current Western-dominated governments in the Arab world, and replacement by hardline regimes which might put up the price of oil. What next? (4) Ben-Ami Shillony's book The Jews and the Japanese is intended to explain Judaism to Japanese readers.

Professor Shillony calls himself 'a Jew, an Israeli' (p. 10). He writes,

'Judaism was the first religion to make world peace a central element in its eschatology' (p. 31; but Judaism borrowed it from Zoroastrianism).

'Yet quite often peace implies domination, and in many languages the word "pacify" also means "conquer". King Solomon could afford to be a king of peace because he ruled "over all the kings from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt"' (p. 32).

'The peaceful world that the Jewish prophets envisioned was to be ruled over by a scion of the House of David, later called the Messiah. The Jews ... were always inspired by the belief that in the future world of peace and justice they would serve as spiritual leaders. This vision of a world mission gave them the strength to suffer severe persecution and propelled them to the forefront of various messianic and "idealistic" movements in modern times like those of human rights, socialism, and communism' (p. 32).

We must now decide whether we are going to let ourselves be dragged into someone else's world war, a religious war led by fundamentalists on both sides.

The West undertook to provide a home for Jews, not to back the rebuilding of Solomon's "Empire" of 3000 years ago (1 Kings 4:21) - which may have been only a "book" empire - the work of writers like Ezra.

(5) Moshe Dayan on the Third Temple

In the following report from UPI of September 16, 2002, note Moshe Dayan's statement that, if Israel loses the 1973 war, "This is the end of the Third Temple."

The point being, that religion is the whole purpose and being of the Jewish state.

Yom Kippur: Israel's 1973 nuclear alert

During the 1973 Yom Kippur war, Israel came close to making a nuclear preemptive strike when it seemed to be facing defeat at the hands of Syrian armor, according to a half dozen former U.S. diplomats and intelligence officials familiar with the still-classified incident.

On Oct. 5, Yom Kippur, -- the Day of Atonement and the holiest day of the year for Jewish people -- the armies of Egypt and Syria attacked Israel from two directions and made rapid gains.

According to a former senior U.S. diplomat, by Oct. 8, Israel's northern front commander, Maj. Gen. Yitzak Hoffi, had informed Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Dayan that he couldn't hold out much longer against the 14,000 Syrian tanks rolling through Israeli defenses on the Golan Heights.

The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Dayan was "attacked by acute panic" and declared to advisers: "This is the end of the Third Temple."

But if Israel was to perish, it would take Damascus and Cairo with it.

According to a former senior CIA official, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, Dayan sought an urgent meeting with Prime Minister Golda Meir and secured her authorization to arm 13 intermediate-range Jericho missiles with nuclear warheads. Eight F-4 Phantom fighter aircraft were also to be given nuclear arms, former senior U.S. officials said.

The meeting took place close to "the Bor," Israel's huge underground war complex, these sources said.

The predominant opinion today is that Israeli's first nuclear alert was a bluff, but "an extremely dangerous one," a former senior U.S. State Department official said.

The Israelis demanded an emergency airlift of weapons and spare parts from the United States to support an all-out war effort. And they accused then Secretary of State Henry Kissinger of deliberately withholding the re-supply in order to allow the Arabs to gain ground.

According to a source close to former U.S. Secretary of Defense James Schlesinger, the Israelis were right. Kissinger's strategy was to "let Israel come out ahead, but bleed," the source said.

What followed then was just possibly more frightening than anything else that has happened since World War II, according to former U.S. officials. "Israel played a very, very dangerous game, and we came close to a nuclear war," said a former very senior State Department official with detailed knowledge of the incident.

Over the next 3 days, the launchers were armed at Hirbat Zachariah while the F-4s, on 24-hour alert, based at Tel Nof near Rehovot, were also prepared, according to former senior Pentagon officials.

The initial targets -- these officials said -- included the Syrian and Eygptian military headquarters, which were situated near Damascus and Cairo, respectively.

In those days, Israel's nuclear arsenal was something U.S. diplomats and defense officials were taught not even to mention.

"To talk about Israel having nuclear weapons was a real career-ending move," one source said.

At that time, the Jerichos were deployed inside caves, inside Israeli military air bases that had "huge blast doors," a former senior CIA official recalled Monday.

The missile-launchers were set up on the back of railway cars and could be rolled out, fired, then rolled back and the blast doors closed, this official said. "We thought of deploying the Mark III missile in the same way," he added.

Somehow, an agent in place in Israel alerted the United States of the arming of the Jerichos and on Oct. 12, an SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft based at Beale Air Force Base in California took off, refueled off of Rota, Spain, and then flew over Syria, Jordan and Israel.

The plane, able to survey 100,000 square miles of land an hour, spotted the radiation from the missiles, according to a former Pentagon official and others familiar with the incident.

According to this Pentagon source, Israel ordered their F-4s to down the plane, but the Blackbird soared to 85,000 feet, beyond the range of the Israeli fighters.

A former employee of Rockwell International, Richard Freeman, told United Press International that the warhead of the Jericho was developed from the U.S. XW-58 warhead developed for the U.S. Army. It was about 24 inches long and 18 to 20 inches in diameter, weighing 200 pounds.

With an accuracy of 500 to 1,000 meters, the warhead "was designed for air bursts above population centers or massed armor formations," he said. But a former CIA official added: "The thing had a lot of problems with its guidance system, and we weren't sure if deployment was real or just saber-rattling."

Saber-rattling or not, that same day, the United States began a huge airlift to Israel including ammunition, tanks and aircraft. Israel made dramatic battlefield gains on all fronts until an Oct. 14 U.N.-Security Council-approved ceasefire brought the fighting to a halt.

But then Israel's current Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon -- who was at the time a major general commanding a division -- broke the ceasefire and began to encircle the Egyptian Third Army, opening the way to Cairo.

It was the Soviets' turn to panic. According to half a dozen former State Department diplomats, Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev told the United States he might be forced to send in crack troops to back up Egyptian forces defending Cairo.

There was plenty of intelligence that elite Soviet paratroop units were on alert and moving.

To halt Sharon, Kissinger raised the state of alert of all U.S. defense forces worldwide. Called DefCons, for defense condition, they work in descending order from DefCon V to DefCon I, which is war. Kissinger ordered a DefCon III.

According to a former senior State Department official, the decision to move to DefCon III "sent a clear message that Sharon's violation of the ceasefire was dragging us into a conflict with the Soviets and that we had no desire to see the Egyptian Army destroyed."

Israel, which had cancelled its nuclear alert, went on nuclear alert for a second time, until Meir quickly ended the crisis by ordering her army to stop all offensive action against the Egyptians.

But the same State Department official pointed out something that has always been a major deterrent in the Middle East. "If Tel Aviv had used those weapons, most of the fall-out would have blown back on Israel because of the pattern of prevailing winds at the time," he said.

It is a strategic mistake to let Jewish lobbies and Freemasons get away with pretending to be the champions of Equality.
