Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil. Regardless of what you know, don\\\'t discuss it -- especially if you are a public figure, news anchor, etc. If it\\\'s not reported, it didn\\\'t happen, and you never have to deal with the issues.

2. Become incredulous and indignant. Avoid discussing key issues and instead focus on side issues which can be used to show the topic as being critical of some otherwise sacrosanct group or theme. This is also known as the \\\"How dare you!\\\" gambit.

Example: \\\"How dare you suggest that the Branch Davidians were murdered! the FBI and BATF are made up of America\\\'s finest and best trained law enforcement, operate under the strictest of legal requirements, and are under the finest leadership the President could want to appoint.\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the Waco issue with disinformation tactics. Your high opinion of FBI is not founded in fact. All you need do is examine Ruby Ridge and any number of other examples, and you will see a pattern that demands attention to charges against FBI/BATF at Waco. Why do you refuse to address the issues with disinformation tactics (rule 2 - become incredulous and indignant)?

3. Create rumor mongers. Avoid discussing issues by describing all charges, regardless of venue or evidence, as mere rumors and wild accusations. Other derogatory terms mutually exclusive of truth may work as well. This method which works especially well with a silent press, because the only way the public can learn of the facts are through such \\\"arguable rumors\\\". If you can associate the material with the Internet, use this fact to certify it a \\\"wild rumor\\\" which can have no basis in fact.

\\\"You can\\\'t prove his material was legitimately from French Intelligence. Pierre Salinger had a chance to show his \\\'proof\\\' that Flight 800 was brought down by friendly fire, and he didn\\\'t. All he really had was the same old baseless rumor that\\\'s been floating around the Internet for months.\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. The Internet charge reported widely is based on a single FBI interview statement to media and a supportive statement by a Congressman who has not actually seen Pierre\\\'s document. As the FBI is being accused in participating in a cover up of this matter and Pierre claims his material is not Internet sourced, it is natural that FBI would have reason to paint his material in a negative light. For you to assume the FBI to have no bias in the face of Salinger\\\'s credentials and unchanged stance suggests you are biased. At the best you can say the matter is in question. Further, to imply that material found on Internet is worthless is not founded. At best you may say it must be considered carefully before accepting it, which will require addressing the actual issues. Why do you refuse to address these issues with disinformation tactics (rule 3 - create rumor mongers)?
menu

4. Use a straw man. Find or create a seeming element of your opponent\\\'s argument which you can easily knock down to make yourself look good and the opponent to look bad. Either make up an issue you may safely imply exists based on your interpretation of the opponent/opponent arguments/situation, or select the weakest aspect of the weakest charges. Amplify their significance and destroy them in a way which appears to debunk all the charges, real and fabricated alike, while actually avoiding discussion of the real issues.

Example: When trying to defeat reports by the Times of London that spy-sat images reveal an object racing towards and striking Flight 800, a straw man is used. \\\"If these exist, the public has not seen them.\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. You imply deceit and deliberately establish an impossible and unwarranted test. It is perfectly natural that the public has not seen them, nor will they for some considerable time, if ever. To produce them would violate national security with respect to intelligence gathering capabilities and limitations, and you should know this. Why do you refuse to address the issues with such disinformation tactics (rule 4 - use a straw man)?
menu

5. Sidetrack opponents with name calling and ridicule. This is also known as the primary attack the messenger ploy, though other methods qualify as variants of that approach. Associate opponents with unpopular titles such as \\\"kooks\\\", \\\"right-wing\\\", \\\"liberal\\\", \\\"left-wing\\\", \\\"terrorists\\\", \\\"conspiracy buffs\\\", \\\"radicals\\\", \\\"militia\\\", \\\"racists\\\", \\\"religious fanatics\\\", \\\"sexual deviates\\\", and so forth. This makes others shrink from support out of fear of gaining the same label, and you avoid dealing with issues.

Example: \\\"You believe what you read in the Spotlight? The Publisher, Willis DeCarto, is a well-known right-wing racist. I guess we know your politics -- does your Bible have a swastika on it? That certainly explains why you support this wild-eyed, right-wing conspiracy theory.\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. Your imply guilt by association and attack truth on the basis of the messenger. The Spotlight is a well known Populist media source responsible for releasing facts and stories well before mainstream media will discuss the issues through their veil of silence. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 5 - sidetrack opponents with name calling and ridicule)?
menu

6. Hit and Run. In any public forum, make a brief attack of your opponent or the opponent position and then scamper off before an answer can be fielded, or simply ignore any answer. This works extremely well in Internet and letters-to-the-editor environments where a steady stream of new identities can be called upon without having to explain criticism reasoning -- simply make an accusation or other attack, never discussing issues, and never answering any subsequent response, for that would dignify the opponent\\\'s viewpoint.

Example: \\\"This stuff is garbage. Where do you conspiracy lunatics come up with this crap? I hope you all get run over by black helicopters.\\\" Notice it even has a farewell sound to it, so it won\\\'t seem curious if the author is never heard from again.

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. Your comments or opinions fail to offer any meaningful dialog or information, and are worthless except to pander to emotionalism, and in fact, reveal you to be emotionally insecure with these matters. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 6 - hit and run)?
menu

7. Question motives. Twist or amplify any fact which could so taken to imply that the opponent operates out of a hidden personal agenda or other bias. This avoids discussing issues and forces the accuser on the defensive.

Example: \\\"With the talk-show circuit and the book deal, it looks like you can make a pretty good living spreading lies.\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. Your imply guilt as a means of attacking the messenger or his credentials, but cowardly fail to offer any concrete evidence that this is so. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 6 - question motives)?
menu

8. Invoke authority. Claim for yourself or associate yourself with authority and present your argument with enough \\\"jargon\\\" and \\\"minutia\\\" to illustrate you are \\\"one who knows\\\", and simply say it isn\\\'t so without discussing issues or demonstrating concretely why or citing sources.

\\\"You obviously know nothing about either the politics or strategic considerations, much less the technicals of the SR-71. Incidentally, for those who might care, that sleek plane is started with a pair of souped up big-block V-8\\\'s (originally, Buick 454 C.I.D. with dual 450 CFM Holly Carbs and a full-race Isky cams -- for 850 combined BHP @ 6,500 RPM) using a dragster-style clutch with direct-drive shaft. Anyway, I can tell you with confidence that no Blackbird has ever been flown by Korean nationals have ever been trained to fly it, and have certainly never overflown the Republic of China in a SR or even launched a drone from it that flew over China. I\\\'m not authorized to discuss if there have been overflights by American pilots.\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. Your imply your own authority and expertise but fail to provide credentials, and you also fail to address issues and cite sources. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 8 - invoke authority)?
menu

9. Play Dumb. No matter what evidence or logical argument is offered, avoid discussing issues with denial they have any credibility, make any sense, provide any proof, contain or make a point, have logic, or support a conclusion. Mix well for maximum effect.

Example: \\\"Nothing you say makes any sense. Your logic is idiotic. Your facts nonexistent. Better go back to the drawing board and try again.\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. Your evade the issues with your own form of nonsense while others, perhaps more intelligent than you pretend to be, have no trouble with the material. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 9 - play dumb)?
menu

10. Associate opponent charges with old news. A derivative of the straw man -- usually, in any large-scale matter of high visibility, someone will make charges early on which can be or were already easily dealt with. Where it can be foreseen, have your own side raise a straw man issue and have it dealt with early on as part of the initial contingency plans. Subsequent charges, regardless of validity or new ground uncovered, can usually them be associated with the original charge and dismissed as simply being a rehash without need to address current issues -- so much the better where the opponent is or was involved with the original source.

Example: \\\"Flight 553\\\'s crash was pilot error, according to the NTSB findings. Digging up new witnesses who say the CIA brought it down at a selected spot and were waiting for it with 50 agents won\\\'t revive that old dead horse buried by NTSB more than twenty years ago.\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. Your ignore the issues and imply they are old charges as if new information is irrelevant. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 10 - associate charges with old news)?
menu

11. Establish and rely upon fall-back positions. Using a minor matter or element of the facts, take the \\\"high road\\\" and \\\"confess\\\" with candor that some innocent mistake, in hindsight, was made -- but that opponents have seized on the opportunity to blow it all out of proportion and imply greater criminalities which, \\\"just isn\\\'t so.\\\" Others can reinforce this on your behalf, later. Done properly, this can garner sympathy and respect for \\\"coming clean\\\" and \\\"owning up\\\" to your mistakes without addressing more serious issues.

Example: \\\"Reno admitted in hindsight she should have taken more time to question the data provided by subordinates on the deadliness of CS-4 and the likely Davidian response to its use, but she was so concerned about the children that she elected, in what she now believes was a sad and terrible mistake, to order the tear gas be used.\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. Your evade the true issue by focusing on a side issue in an attempt to evoke sympathy. Perhaps you did not know that CIA Public Relations expert Mark Richards was called in to help Janet Reno with the Waco aftermath response? How warm and fuzzy feeling it makes us, so much so that we are to ignore more important matters? Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 11 - establish and rely upon fall-back positions)?
menu

12. Enigmas have no solution. Drawing upon the overall umbrella of events surrounding the crime and the multitude of players and events, paint the entire affair as too complex to solve. This causes those otherwise following the matter to begin to loose interest more quickly without having to address the actual issues.

Example: \\\"I don\\\'t see how you can claim Vince Foster was murdered since you can\\\'t prove a motive. Before you could do that, you would have to completely solve the whole controversy over everything that went on in the White House and Arkansas, and even then, you would have to know a heck of a lot more about what went on within the NSA, the Travel Office, and on, and on, and on. It\\\'s hopeless. Give it up.\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. Your completely evade issues and attempt others from daring to attempt it by making it a much bigger mountain than necessary. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 12 - enigmas have no solution)?
menu

13. Alice in Wonderland Logic. Avoid discussion of the issues by reasoning backwards with an apparent deductive logic in a way that forbears any actual material fact.

Example: \\\"The news media operates in a fiercely competitive market where stories are gold. This means they dig, dig, dig for the story -- often doing a better job than law enforcement. If there was any evidence that BATF had prior knowledge of the Oklahoma City bombing, they would surely have uncovered it and reported it. They haven\\\'t reported it, so there can\\\'t have been any prior knowledge. Put up or shut up.\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. Your backwards logic does not work here. Has the media reported the CIA killed Kennedy when they knew it? No, despite their presence at a courtroom testimony \\\"confession\\\" by CIA operative Marita Lornez in a liable trial between E. Howard Hunt and Liberty Lobby, they only told us the trial verdict. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 13 - Alice in Wonderland logic)?
menu

14. Demand complete solutions. Avoid the issues by requiring opponents to solve the crime at hand completely, a ploy which works best items qualifying for rule 10.

Example: \\\"Since you know so much, if James Earl Ray is innocent as you claim, who really killed Martin Luther King, how was it planned and executed, how did they frame Ray and fool the FBI, and why?\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. It is not necessary to completely resolve any full matter in order to examine any relative attached issue. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 14 - demand complete solutions)?
menu

15. Fit the facts to alternate conclusions. This requires creative thinking unless the crime was planned with contingency conclusions in place.

Example: The best definitive example of avoiding issues by this technique is, perhaps, Arlan Specter\\\'s Magic Bullet from the Warren Report.

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. Your imaginative twisting of facts rivals that of Arlan Specter\\\'s Magic Bullet in the Warren Report. We all know why the magic bullet was invented. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 15 - invoke authority)?
menu

16. Vanish evidence and witnesses. If it does not exist, it is not fact, and you won\\\'t have to address the issue.

Example: \\\"You can\\\'t say Paisley is still alive... that his death was faked and the list of CIA agents found on his boat deliberately placed there to support a purge at CIA. You have no proof. Why can\\\'t you accept the Police reports?\\\" True, since the dental records and autopsy report showing his body was two inches too long and the teeth weren\\\'t his were lost right after his wife demanded inquiry, and since his body was cremated before she could view it -- all that remains are the Police Reports. Handy.

Proper response: There is no suitable response to actual vanished materials or persons, unless you can shed light on the matter, particularly if you can tie the event to a cover up or other criminality. However, with respect to dialog where it is used against the discussion, you can respond... You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. The best you can say is that the matter is in contention based on highly suspicious matters which themselves tend to support the primary allegation. Why do you refuse to address the remaining issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 16 - vanish evidence and witnesses)?
menu

17. Change the subject. Usually in connection with one of the other ploys listed here, find a way to side-track the discussion with abrasive or controversial comments in hopes of turning attention to a new, more manageable topic. This works especially well with companions who can \\\"argue\\\" with you over the new topic and polarize the discussion arena in order to avoid discussing more key issues.

Example: \\\"There were no CIA drugs and no drug money was laundered through Mena, Arkansas, and certainly, there was no Bill Clinton knowledge of it because it simply didn\\\'t happen. This is merely an attempt by his opponents to put Clinton off balance and at a disadvantage in the election because Dole is such a weak candidate with nothing to offer that they are desperate to come up with something to swing the polls. Dole simply has no real platform.\\\" Response. \\\"You idiot! Dole has the clearest vision of what\\\'s wrong with Government since McGovern. Clinton is only interested in raping the economy, the environment, and every woman he can get his hands on...\\\" One naturally feels compelled, regardless of party of choice, to jump in defensively on that one...

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. Your evade discussion of the issues by attempting to sidetrack us with an emotional response -- a trap which we will not fall into willingly. If you truly believe such political rhetoric, please drop out of this discussion, as it is not germane unless you can provide concrete facts to support your contentions of relevance. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 17- change the subject)?
menu

18. Emotionalize, Antagonize, and Goad Opponents. If you can\\\'t do anything else, chide and taunt your opponents and draw them into emotional responses which will tend to make them look foolish and overly motivated, and generally render their material somewhat less coherent. Not only will you avoid discussing the issues in the first instance, but even if their emotional response addresses the issue, you can further avoid the issues by then focusing on how \\\"sensitive they are to criticism\\\".

Example: \\\"You are such an idiot to think that possible -- or are you such a paranoid conspiracy buff that you think the \\\'gubment\\\' is cooking your pea-brained skull with microwaves, which is the only justification you might have for dreaming up this drivel.\\\" After a drawing an emotional response: \\\"Ohhh... I do seemed to have touched a sensitive nerve. Tsk, tsk. What\\\'s the matter? The truth too hot for you to handle? Perhaps you should stop relying on the Psychic Friends Network and see a psychiatrist for some real professional help...\\\"

Proper response: \\\"You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. You attempt to draw me into emotional response without discussion of the issues. If you have something useful to contribute which defeats my argument, let\\\'s here it -- preferably without snide and unwarranted personal attacks, if you can manage to avoid sinking so low. Your useless rhetoric serves no purpose here if that is all you can manage. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 18 - emotionalize, antagonize, and goad opponents)?
menu

19. Ignore proof presented, demand impossible proofs. This is perhaps a variant of the \\\"play dumb\\\" rule. Regardless of what material may be presented by an opponent in public forums, claim the material irrelevant and demand proof that is impossible for the opponent to come by (it may exist, but not be at his disposal, or it may be something which is known to be safely destroyed or withheld, such as a murder weapon). In order to completely avoid discussing issues may require you to categorically deny and be critical of media or books as valid sources, deny that witnesses are acceptable, or even deny that statements made by government or other authorities have any meaning or relevance.

Example: \\\"All he\\\'s done is to quote the liberal media and a bunch of witnesses who aren\\\'t qualified. Where\\\'s his proof? Show me wreckage from Flight 800 that shows a missile hit it!\\\"

Proper response: You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics. You presume for us not to accept Don Phillips, reporter for the Washington Post, Al Baker, Craig Gordon or Liam Pleven, reporters for Newsday, Matthew Purdy or Matthew L. Wald, Don Van Natta Jr., reporters for the New York Times, or Pat Milton, wire reporter for the Associated Press -- as being able to tell us anything useful about the facts in this matter. Neither would you allow us to accept Robert E. Francis, Vice Chairman of the NTSB, Joseph Cantamessa Jr., Special Agent In Charge of the New York Office of the F.B.I., Dr. Charles Wetli, Suffolk County Medical Examiner, the Pathologist examining the bodies, nor unnamed Navy divers, crash investigators, or other cited officials, including Boeing Aircraft representatives a part of the crash investigative team -- as a qualified party in this matter, and thus, dismisses this material out of hand. Good logic, -- about as good as saying 150 eye witnesses aren\\\'t qualified. Only YOUR are qualified to tell us what to believe? Witnesses be damned? Radar tracks be damned? Satellite tracks be damned? Reporters be damned? Photographs be damned? Government statements be damned? Is there a pattern here?. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 19 - ignore proof presented, demand impossible proofs)?
menu

20. False evidence. Whenever possible, introduce new facts or clues designed and manufactured to conflict with opponent presentations as useful tools to neutralize sensitive issues or impede resolution. This works best when the crime was designed with contingencies for the purpose, and the facts cannot be easily separated from the fabrications.

Example: Jack Ruby warned the Warren Commission that the white Russian separatists, the Solidarists, were involved in the assassination. This was a handy \\\"confession\\\", since Jack and Earl were both on the same team in terms of the cover up, and since it is now known that Jack worked directly with CIA in the assassination.

Proper response: This one can be difficult to respond to unless you see it clearly, such as in the following example, where more is known today than earlier in time... You are avoiding the issue with disinformation tactics.

Your information is known to have designed to side track this issue. As revealed by CIA operative Marita Lorenz under oath offered in court in E. Howard Hunt vs. Liberty Lobby, CIA operatives met with Jack Ruby in Dallas the night before the assassination of JFK to distribute guns and money. Clearly, Ruby was a coconspirator whose \\\"Solidarist confession\\\" was meant to sidetrack any serious investigation of the murder. Why do you refuse to address the issues by use of such disinformation tactics (rule 20 - false evidence)?
menu

21. Call a Grand Jury, Special Prosecutor, or other empowered investigative body. Subvert the (process) to your benefit and effectively neutralize all sensitive issues without open discussion. Once convened, the evidence and testimony are required to be secret when properly handled. For instance, if you own the prosecuting attorney, it can insure a Grand Jury hears no useful evidence and that the evidence is sealed an unavailable to subsequent investigators. Once a favorable verdict (usually, this technique is applied to find the guilty innocent, but it can also be used to obtain charges when seeking to frame a victim) is achieved, the matter can be considered officially closed.

Example: According to one OK bombing Grand Juror who violated the law to speak the truth, jurors were, contrary to law, denied the power of subpoena of witness of their choosing, denied the power of asking witnesses questions of their choosing, and relegated to hearing only evidence prosecution wished them to hear, evidence which clearly seemed fraudulent and intended to paint conclusions other than facts actually suggested.

Proper response: There is usually no adequate response to this tactic except to complain loudly at any sign of its application, particularly with respect to any possible cover up.
menu

22. Manufacture a new truth. Create your own expert(s), group(s), author(s), leader(s) or influence existing ones willing to forge new ground via scientific, investigative, or social research or testimony which concludes favorably. In this way, if you must actually address issues, you can do so authoritatively.

Example: The False Memory Syndrome Foundation and American Family Foundation and American and Canadian Psychiatric Associations fall into this category, as their founding members and/or leadership include key persons associated with CIA Mind Control research. Not so curious, then, that (in a perhaps oversimplified explanation here) these organizations focus on, by means of their own \\\"research findings\\\", that there is no such thing as Mind Control.

Proper response: Unless you are in a position to be well versed in the topic and know of the background and relationships involved in the opponent organization, you are well equipped to fight this tactic.
menu

23. Create bigger distractions. If the above does not seem to be working to distract from sensitive issues, or to prevent unwanted media coverage of unstoppable events such as trials, create bigger news stories (or treat them as such) to distract the multitudes.

Example: To distract the public over the progress of a WTC bombing trial that seems to be uncovering nasty ties to the intelligence community, have an endless discussion of skaters whacking other skaters on the knee. To distract the public over the progress of the Waco trials that have the potential to reveal government sponsored murder, have an O.J. summer. To distract the public over an ever disintegrating McVeigh trial situation and the danger of exposing government involvements, come up with something else (any day now) to talk about -- keeping in the sports theme, how about sports fans shooting referees and players during a game and the whole gun control thing?

Proper response: The best you can do is attempt to keep public debate and interest in the true issues alive and point out that the \\\"news flap\\\" or other evasive tactic serves the interests of your opponents.
menu

24. Silence critics. If the above methods do not prevail, consider removing opponents from circulation by some definitive solution so that the need to address issues is removed entirely. This can be by their death, arrest and detention, blackmail or destruction of their character by release of blackmail information, or merely by proper intimidation with blackmail or other threats.

Example: As experienced by certain proponents of friendly fire theories with respect to Flight 800 -- send in FBI agents to intimidate and threaten that if they persisted further they would be subject to charges of aiding and abetting Iranian terrorists, of failing to register as a foreign agents, or any other trumped up charges. If this doesn\\\'t work, you can always plant drugs and bust them.

Proper response: You have three defensive alternatives if you think yourself potential victim of this ploy. One is to stand and fight regardless. Another is to create for yourself an insurance policy which will point to your opponents in the event of any unpleasantness, a matter which requires superior intelligence information on your opponents and great care in execution to avoid dangerous pitfalls (see The Professional Paranoid by this author for suggestions on how this might be done). The last alternative is to cave in or run (same thing).
menu

25. Vanish. If you are a key holder of secrets or otherwise overly illuminated and you think the heat is getting too hot, to avoid the issues, vacate the kitchen.

Example: Do a Robert Vesco and retire to the Caribbean. If you don\\\'t, somebody in your organization may choose to vanish you the way of Vince Foster or Ron Brown.

Proper response: You will likely not have a means to attack this method, except to focus on the vanishing in hopes of uncovering it was by foul play as part of a deliberate cover up.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spot the Freeper

Note: There are other ways to attack truth, but these listed are the most common, and others are likely derivatives of these. In the end, you can usually spot the professional disinfo players by one or more of seven distinct traits:

1) They never actually discuss issues head on or provide constructive input, generally avoiding citation of references or credentials. Rather, they merely imply this, that, and the other. Virtually everything about their presentation implies their authority and expert knowledge in the matter without any further justification for credibility.

2) They tend to pick and choose their opponents carefully, either applying the hit-and-run approach against mere commentators supportive of opponents, or focusing heavier attacks on key opponents who are known to directly address issues. Should a commentator become argumentative with any success, the focus will shift to include the commentator as well.

3) They tend to surface suddenly and somewhat coincidentally with a controversial topic with no clear prior record of participation in general discussion in the particular public arena. They likewise tend to vanish once the topic is no longer of general concern. They were likely directed or elected to be there for a reason, and vanish with the reason.

4) They tend to operate in self-congratulatory and complementary packs or teams. Of course, this can happen naturally in any public forum, but there will likely be an ongoing pattern of frequent exchanges of this sort where professionals are involved. Sometimes one of the players will infiltrate the opponent camp to become a source for straw man or other tactics designed to dilute opponent presentation strength.

5) Their disdain for \\\"conspiracy theorists\\\" and, usually, for those who in any way believe JFK was not killed by LHO. Ask yourself why, if they hold such disdain for conspiracy theorists, do they focus on defending a single topic discussed in a NG focusing on conspiracies? One might think they would either be trying to make fools of everyone on every topic, or simply ignore the group they hold in such disdain. Or, one might more rightly conclude they have an ulterior motive for their actions in going out of their way to focus as they do.

6) An odd kind of \\\"artificial\\\" emotionalism and an unusually thick skin -- an ability to persevere and persist even in the face of overwhelming criticism and unacceptance. This likely stems from intelligence community training that, no matter how condemning the evidence, deny everything, and never become emotionally involved or reactive. The net result for a disinfo artist is that emotions can seem artificial. Most people, if responding in anger, for instance, will express their animosity throughout their presentation. But disinfo types usually have trouble maintaining the \\\"image\\\" and are hot and cold with respect to emotions they pretend to have and the more calm or normal communications which are not emotional. It\\\'s just a job, and they often seem unable to \\\"act their role in type\\\" as well in a communications medium as they might be able in a real face-to-face conversation/confrontation. You might have outright rage and indignation one moment, ho-hum the next, and more anger later -- an emotional yo-yo. With respect to being thick-skinned, no amount of criticism will deter them from doing their job, and they will generally continue their old disinfo patterns without any adjustments to criticisms of how obvious it is that they play that game -- where a more rational individual who truly cares what others think might seek to improve their communications style, substance, and so forth.

7) There is also a tendacy to make mistakes which betray their true self/motives. This may stem from not really knowing their topic, or it may be somewhat \\\'freudian\\\', so to speak, in that perhaps they really root for the side of truth deep within. I have noted that often, they will simply cite contradictory information which neutralizes itself and the author. For instance, one such player claimed to be a Navy pilot, but blamed his poor communicating skills (spelling, grammar, incoherent style) on having only a grade-school education. I\\\'m not aware of too many Navy pilots who don\\\'t have a college degree. Another claimed no knowledge of a particular topic/situation but later claimed first-hand knowledge of it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8629285072965859682.post-7430007988622776932007-09-16T08:50:00.000-07:002007-09-16T08:50:00.000-07:00You people don't get it.I believe all this to be t...You people don't get it.

I believe all this to be true because how else are David Horowitz and Michael Savage loudmouthed bigots? Father Tadusz Rydzyk runs the Radio Maryja Catholic media network and his messages to the faithful could influence the outcome of the polls. The coalition led by the prime minister, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, fell apart last month and an election campaign has begun. While Mr Kaczynski and his twin brother Lech, who serves as president, are well known for their grip on the secular levers of control - including myriad security services - Fr Rydzyk has emerged as a power broker who claims his power from a higher authority. In staunchly Roman Catholic Poland, the ability to mobilise the faithful in their pews and at the ballot box is critical. Run from a fenced compound in the city of Torun, 75 miles north-west of Warsaw, Radio Maryja was created by Fr Rydzyk in 1991 and has one million listeners a day. Others read the priest's newspaper or watch his television channel. Radio Maryja has become a crucial political ally of the conservative Kaczynski twins. "Radio Maryja has up to 1-2 million listeners. But they are a very specific group - usually old, and very disciplined voters," said Dr Jacek Kucharczyk, from Poland's independent political think tank, the Institute of Public Affairs. "In the 2005 elections, with Poland's low turnout, the Kaczynskis won with just 3.5 million votes, so a block of one million voters is huge. It has made Rydzyk a king-maker." That power has increasingly allowed Fr Rydzyk to impose Radio Maryja's agenda on national politics in Poland. In part that means homespun family values. But Radio Maryja's critics argue that Fr Rydzyk and his media empire are also anti-Semitic and homophobic. "It is extremist. The political message is xenophobic, notoriously anti-Semitic, anti-German, homophobic - you name it," said Dr Kucharczyk.
© The Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CONTROVERSIAL FRENCH COMEDIAN FINED FOR REMARKS ON HOLOCAUST
11/9/2007- French comic Dieudonne was fined 7,000 euros Tuesday after he accused Jews of "memorial pornography" for their remembrance of the Holocaust. The black comedian, whose full name is Dieudonne M’Bala M’Bala, made the remarks at a press conference in Algeria in February 2005. In the same conference he attacked "the Zionist lobby which cultivates the idea of their unique suffering ... and has declared war on the black world." A Paris court found him guilty of "complicity to slander a group of persons on the grounds of race, religion or origin." Last year Dieudonne was fined 5,000 euros for comparing Jews to slave-traders in a newspaper interview. He is appealing against the sentence. Describing himself as an anti-Zionist militant since 1997, Dieudonne has led political campaigns against Israel with several marginal anti-Israeli militant allies within movements and associations such as the Euro-Palestine election list for the European elections in 2004 and the ‘Voltaire Network’ association which considers the media gives too much coverage to anti-Semitic attacks in France. Once a respected comedian, he launched an ongoing campaign both against Israel and Jewish organisations several years ago. Among his repeated attacks he accused Jews of orchestrating hundreds of years ago the slave trade and of spreading Aids in Africa. His numerous accusations and comments on Jews cost him several trials for anti-Semitism, of which he has won all but one in March 2006. Once a popular comedian, whose partner was the Jewish comic Elie Semoun, Dieudonne is avoided by the mainstream media which does not wish to echo and publicise his controversial ideas. After a series of declarations and scandals most artists and comics have ceased to support Dieudonne as well.
© European Jewish Press http://www.ejpress.org/
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FRENCH NEO-NAZI CONVICTED FOR DESECRATING JEWISH CEMETERY
12/9/2007- A former security guard and neo-Nazi was sentenced to 30 months in jail on Wednesday for the desecration of more than 100 graves in a Jewish cemetery in eastern France. Emmanuel Rist, 37, described as the "mastermind" of the April 2004 attack at the Herrlisheim cemetery, had expressed regret for his actions during the three-day trial. His co-defendants, Laurent Boulanger, 27, and Laurent Peterschmitt, 28, were sentenced to 18 months and six months in jail respectively for daubing swastikas, Nazi insignia and anti-Semitic slogans at the cemetery. The desecration of the graves -- the first in a wave of anti-Semitic attacks in the eastern Alsace region in 2004 -- drew swift condemnation from French political leaders and many had visited the cemetery to underscore their concern. Rist told police during questioning that he chose the Herrlisheim cemetery because of the letter "H" which evoked Hitler and to mark the anniversary of his death of April 30 1945. But the former security guard, who faces charges of murder and attempted murder of two Moroccan men in separate cases, told the court on Tuesday that he had abandoned his neo-Nazi views and that it was wrong to praise the Third Reich. "All men are equal in their suffering, be they Jews, north Africans, French or Italian," said Rist. Saying he "had had time to think in prison," Rist resolved that it was "completely stupid to defend a regime that hurt so many people." Prosecutor Pascal Schultz nevertheless requested a maximum sentence of three years in jail for Rist, saying that he had "not totally renounced" his neo-Nazi views and was guilty of damage to property and inciting hatred. Swastikas, Celtic crosses and Nazi inscriptions were found on 117 of the 400 graves at Herrlisheim while a plaque at the entrance of the cemetery bearing a Jewish prayer had been defaced with the writing "Juden raus" (Jews Out).
© Expatica News http://www.expatica.com/
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EXTRA SECURITY FOR JEWISH FESTIVITIES(uk)
13/9/2007- Police patrols will be stepped up in Jewish communities across Greater Manchester during their High Holy Days. The religious festivities begin with the Eve of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. They end in October and include holy days such as Yom Kippur. The police operation aims to deter anti-Semitism and criminal activity and to provide `accessible policing and reassurance' to Jewish communities, particularly in Salford, Bury and north Manchester. Officers are working with the Council of Synagogues and are operating joint patrols with the Community Security Trust, a charity providing security to the British Jewish community. Extra police patrols will run before and after services to safeguard people walking to and from synagogues. A mobile police station will be launched in Higher Broughton and the gatehouse at Sedgley Park Training College, Prestwich, will become a reporting base and offer advice. Chief Insp Karan Lee said: "The High Holy Days are a combination of the most important religious festivals in the Jewish calendar. "The aim of the operation is to give members of the Jewish community the opportunity to worship throughout the period of festivities in peace and safety across Greater Manchester. "We are putting in extra patrols to reassure the public and ensure they have an adequate reporting facility available. "This time of year generates a particular demand and an appropriate response is required. "Greater Manchester is a large area with a diverse range of communities within it. "Providing good neighbourhood policing is about responding to the needs of each of those communities. "I hope that this flexible, tailored approach reassures the Jewish community and helps them to enjoy a safe and happy festive period."
© The Asian News http://www.theasiannews.co.uk/
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE NEW ANTI-SEMITISM IN BRITAIN
7/9/2007- The anti-Israel climate in Britain evidenced by the various boycott initiatives against Israeli academic institutions, Israeli-made goods, and harassing law suits against Israeli military officers visiting Britain, has unleashed a tidal-wave of anti-Semitism in Britain fueled by a combination of radical left-wing academicians and Muslim radicals, who in addition to hating Jews, have no love for Britain either and are seeking to remake Britain into a Muslim state that adheres to Sharia law.

Britain’s Labour parliamentarian Denis MacShane discussed in a Washington Post article (9/4/07), the Blue-Ribbon Parliamentary Committee Report on Anti-Semitism in Britain that he chaired. The committee, which included former government ministers and party leaders (Tory Iain Duncan Smith and Liberal Democrat and environment spokesman Chris Huhne) made observations that are most worrisome in a post-Holocaust age. The panel of investigators included fourteen MP’s (none of whom are Jews) called their finding “disturbing.” The British parliamentary committee’s task of investigating anti-Semitism in Britain was determined as a result of steadily rising anti-Semitic attacks against British Jews. In 2004 there were 530-recorded incidents of attacks against members of the 300,000 strong Jewish community – of which 100,000 are Orthodox, and who bore the brunt of the attacks, took place. In 2006, the number of attacks increased to 594.

The report according to MacShane revealed a pattern of fear among many of the country’s Jews with, “Synagogues attacked. Jewish schoolboys jolted on public transportation. Rabbis punched and knifed.” MacShane pointed out that British Jews feel compelled to raise millions to provide for private security for weddings and community events. “On campus militant anti-Jewish students fueled by Islamic or far-left hate seeking to prevent Jewish students from expressing their opinions,” MacShane reported. MacShane called “worrisome” the “anti-Jewish discourse, a mood and a tune whenever Jews are discussed whether in the media (BBC in particular), at universities, among the liberal media elite or at dinner parties of modish London.” MacShane added, “To express any support for Israel or any feeling for the right of the Jewish State to exist produced denunciation, even contempt.” The Observer reported back on September 3, 2006 on the draft document of the report on Anti-Semitism in Britain. The correspondent, Ned Temko, explained, “The report voices particular concern over a minority of Islamic extremists who are inciting hatred towards Jews, and it criticizes recent moves by left-wing academics to boycott links with Israel. Though emphasizing the right of people to criticize or protest against Israeli government actions, it says ‘rage’ over Israeli policies has sometime ‘provided a pretext’ for anti-Semitism.” Temko revealed, moreover, that the Report condemned calls to boycott contacts with intellectuals and academics working in Israel as “an assault on academic freedom and intellectual exchange.”

Picking up on MacShane’s interview on the BBC, Temko quoted MacShane as saying: “British Jews were right to shudder at the aggressive comparison of Israeli policies with the Holocaust,” and the “witch’s brew of anti-Semitism including the far left and ‘ultra Islamist’ extremists who reject Israel’s right to exist.” The response of British Jewry has been one of deep concern. Britain’s Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks charged,” The new anti-Semitism is significantly different from the old. That is why it has not been noticed as widely as it should have been. The old anti-Semitism was a product of national cultures. One could talk of a country like Germany, Russia, or Poland being anti-Semitic. Today’s anti-Semitism is global. It is communicated by satellite television, email and especially the Internet.” Rabbi Sacks added, “What makes the new anti-Semitism anti-Semitic, is that it is directed against Jews, not against Israel. Its targets - synagogues, Jewish schools and community centers, Jews in the street - often have nothing to do with Israel.”

Antony Lerman, Executive Director of the Institute for Jewish Policy Research maintained that, “Anti-Semitism today (2006) is a serious problem: both for Jews and for society as a whole. Some think it went away after the Holocaust. It did not. Although it did diminish in recent decades, in the last few years it has intensified. And there is clear evidence, stretching back more than 20 years, that increases in the number of anti-Jewish manifestations are linked to periods of heightened tension and armed conflict involving Israel and the Arabs.”

Mitch Simmons, Campaign Director of the Union of Jewish Students summed up the situation Jewish students face on British campuses, “ If a Jewish student feels it necessary to wear a baseball cap on campus to hide his skullcap for fear of physical or verbal assault, then that campus can no longer be considered a safe space for all students. If lecturers feel it appropriate to decide whom they will or won’t teach based on their nationality, then there is no longer equality in education. Jewish students have the right to feel safe on campus like everybody else; we all have the right to expect our universities and student unions to provide a safe environment for all students.”
It is apparent that on both sides of the Atlantic, Muslim radicals and their left-wing partners have launched a coordinated campaign to intimidate Jewish students. In Montreal, at Berkley (California) and of course on British campuses, pro-Israel, or Israeli speakers are greeted with violence and prevented from addressing students. The administrations on these campuses have succumbed to the radical haters demand at the expense of freedom of expression - the cornerstone of academic life. Europe in general and Britain in particular, caught in the throws of political correctness and guilt over its colonialist and imperialist past, have been willing to look away rather than confront the intolerance, hate-mongering, and oppression inflicted by left-wing and Islamists radicals on campuses and in the streets, on Jewish student and adults, or anyone in support of Israel and the U.S. The lack of reprisals (either expulsion or arrest) against these radical perpetrators and radical professors has created a climate of fear and discomfort for Jews, and has encouraged, under the guise of academic freedom, the radical Muslims and their left-wing partners, to feel that they are untouchable.

Concluding his report on Anti-Semitism in Britain, Denis MacShane said, “Today there is still denial about the universal ideology of the new anti-Semitism. It has power and reach, and it enters into the soft underbelly of the Western mind-set that does not like Jews or what Israel does to defend its right to exist.” MacShane recommended a counterattack. “My own House of Commons has led the way with its report.” He added, “The 47-nation Council of Europe, on which I sit as a British representative, has launched a lengthy inquiry into combating anti-Semitism in Europe. The European Union has produced a directive outlawing Internet hate speech originating within its jurisdiction.” He also noted, “We are at the beginning of a long intellectual and ideological struggle. It is not about Jews or Israel. It is about everything democrats have long fought for: the truth without fear, no matter one’s religion or political beliefs. The new anti-Semitism threatens all humanity. The Jew-haters must not get a pass.”
© Frontpage magazine http://www.frontpagemag.com/index.asp
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NEW PARIAH ON THE BLOCK(Israel)
The campaign for sanctions against Israel is growing. But it faces resistance and is less effective than it looks

13/9/2007- For once, Israel's critics and cheerleaders agree on something: the Jewish state risks greater international isolation. Pro-Israel groups such as NGO Monitor and the Jerusalem Centre for Public Affairs say a new assault is on the way. In the other camp, Shir Hever of the Alternative Information Centre, an Israeli-Palestinian activist group in Jerusalem, says that advocating a boycott is no longer always treated as anti-Semitism. Both sides have a motive to exaggerate such claims. But “boycotts, divestments and sanctions” (known in the activist world as “BDS”) do seem to be growing. Pro-Israel lobbyists see this as part of what they call the “Durban strategy”, devised by activists at a United Nations anti-racism conference there in 2001, which marked a new high point for Israel-bashing. The real trigger, though, seems to have been a call two years ago by a coalition of Palestinian outfits to boycott products made in Israel or in its West Bank settlements, and to divest from (ie, sell shares in) Israeli firms, or foreign ones seen as profiting from Israel's occupation of the West Bank and (then) Gaza. Caterpillar, whose earth-movers are used for demolishing Palestinian homes and building on settlements, and Motorola, whose clients for communications equipment include the Israeli army, are popular targets.

This year two big British trade unions and the much smaller National Union of Journalists (NUJ) called on their members to boycott Israeli products. The Irish Congress of Trade Unions backed divestment. The public-sector union in the Canadian province of Ontario voted to support BDS last year; local activists are campaigning against Indigo, a retail chain that sells books and music. Its majority owners run a charity for Israeli veterans. In February an “Israeli Apartheid Week” was held on North American and British campuses for the third year running. Motions to boycott Israeli universities have passed at the conferences of two British teaching unions. A handful of American churches and the ecumenical World Council of Churches have considered divestment from companies like Caterpillar, as has the Church of England, Britain's established church. Many more minor events—from a protest against Israeli products outside a German food store to the Dutch government's warning to a company that was helping to build the separation barrier in the West Bank—show how hostility to Israel, or at least to its treatment of the Palestinians, is finding expression.

Under closer inspection, the boycotts look flimsy. Most of the motions passed have been non-binding recommendations, or instructions to investigate the practicalities of BDS. Activists' votes at conferences may be slapped down by the membership, as with the NUJ's boycott, which was reversed after furious complaints from members. After pressure from Jewish groups, American Presbyterians, who voted in 2004 to look into divesting from up to five American firms, backed off last year without having removed a dollar. The two British teaching unions merged and voted anew to consider suspending links with Israeli institutions only to provoke a huge counter-attack by American college presidents. All this recalls the haphazard campaign against South Africa before sanctions got UN backing in 1962. But the anti-Israel movement shows little sign of getting such official support. One reason for this is that Israel has more powerful lobbyists—both in Jewish organisations and in America's evangelical Christian movement, to whom the birth of the Jewish state is a fulfilment of prophecy (some BDS motions passed in American churches really reflect internal Christian rows). Unlike the African National Congress, which acted as both a moral beacon and an organiser for sanctions, the Palestinian leadership does not support BDS—fearing that it will hurt Palestinians as much as Israelis—and is much weaker and more divided.

The chief difference between the Israeli and South African cases is, however, in the moral sphere. Israel is a robust democracy with vibrant academic freedom. Whereas it was plain to most South Africans that “separate development” was a cover for a gross system of racism, the rights and wrongs in Palestine are both murkier and more fiercely contested. For all these reasons left-leaning diaspora Jews and campaigners against the occupation often argue against BDS and for more “constructive” engagement. Boycotting Israeli universities, they note, actually hurts some of the occupation's most trenchant critics (and may thus be unlikely to bother Israeli hawks). Even fans of BDS do not fully agree on the best way forward. While some call for broad boycotts, others think “smart sanctions”, such as banning goods produced from settlements in the occupied territories, or from specific firms, will have more effect and sidestep claims of anti-Semitism. Israel's economy, they say, is more vulnerable to pressure than South Africa's—smaller, more globally connected and with fewer natural resources. “I don't think the boycotts will be as widespread as with South Africa,” says Mr Hever, “but a small and specific economic impact can change many people's minds.” Perhaps. But blaming Israel alone for the impasse in the occupied territories will continue to strike many outsiders as unfair.
© The Economist http://www.economist.com/index.html
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HOME-GROWN NAZIS(Israel)
13/9/2007- Israelis were shocked, as was the rest of the world, by the news that police had arrested a gang of young neo-Nazis in Petah Tikva, near Tel Aviv. The eight, all immigrants from the former Soviet Union and all but one of them non-Jewish, had taken photos and videos of themselves giving Hitler salutes and beating up foreigners, drug addicts and skullcap-wearing religious men, and had swapped anti-Semitic e-mail messages. Shocking—but not all that surprising. Israel's “law of return” allows not only Jews but their partners, children and grandchildren, who may not be technically Jewish, to claim Israeli citizenship. It drew immigrants from the former Soviet Union, causing many with only a tenuous Jewish link to move to Israel for a better life. But they often found it hard to get good jobs, so many of their children have grown up in poor towns with few opportunities. And non-Jews in Israel face various complications—from social exclusion to trouble getting married in a country where the rabbinate will not marry non-Jews but civil marriage does not exist. It was likely that a few disillusioned and susceptible youths would fall prey to extreme ideologies.

Nor is the phenomenon new. The past few years have seen a steady trickle of anti-Semitic attacks and swastika-daubings by Israelis, and several youths have been arrested. What grabbed attention this time was the videos they made. Dmir, an organisation that has campaigned for the past seven years for victims of anti-Semitism in Israel, reports hundreds of complaints a year. Some politicians said the law of return should be more restrictive, which naturally infuriated Russian-Israeli leaders. Arab-Israelis, meanwhile, compare the fuss over the neo-Nazis with the indifference to another extremist minority—those among the right-wing Jewish settlers in the Palestinian territories who have spread hate and carried out attacks against Palestinians but are rarely punished. Jamal Zahalka, an Arab member of parliament, put it succinctly: “You can't discriminate between racists.”
© The Economist http://www.economist.com/index.html
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NEO-NAZIS CHARGED WITH RACIAL ASSAULTS, INCITEMENT(Israel)
11/9/2007- The eight members of the Israeli neo-Nazi cell whom police arrested Sunday in Petah Tikva face charges of racially-motivated aggravated assault, conspiring to commit a crime and distributing materials to incite. The Central District District Attorney's Office yesterday also indicted the suspects for possession of racist materials and illegal weapons, as well as issuing threats. Arik (Eli) Bunyatov, the alleged leader, was also indicted for assault and battery. According to the indictment, the eight defendants (three of whom are minors) were allegedly led by Bunyatov and allegedly perpetrated hate crimes against Asians, religious Jews, drug addicts and homosexuals. The indictment also accuses Bunyatov of preaching neo-Nazi ideology to the other members, who are accused of recording their crimes on video and uploading them to the mainstream video-sharing Web site YouTube and to racist video-sharing sites. Quotes from conversations Bunyatov allegedly had over the Internet with neo-Nazi activists abroad are included in the indictment. The prosecution says the material was recovered from Bunyatov's personal computer after his arrest. "Neo-Nazism isn't something you can walk away from once you get into it," the indictment quotes Bunyatov as saying in a correspondence with a fellow believer in the Aryan cause. "Problem is, we can't really fight for the cause in this country because it belong to the Jews," Bunyatov is quoted as saying.
© Haaretz http://www.haaretz.com/
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
POLICE BREAK UP ISRAELI NEO-NAZI RING
10/9/2007- Police said Sunday they have broken up a cell of young Israeli neo-Nazis accused of a string of brutal racist and anti-Semitic attacks, videos of which were played on television to a stunned national audience. The eight suspects, all immigrants from the former Soviet Union in their late teens or early 20s, are seen in the videos kicking victims on the ground to a bloody pulp, hitting a man over the head with an empty beer bottle and proclaiming their allegiance to Adolf Hitler with a Nazi salute. Sixty years after the Nazi Holocaust killed 6 million Jews, incidents of anti-Semitism continue to outrage Israelis and the discovery of such violence in their own country dominated morning radio shows and made the front pages of newspapers with headlines such as "Unbelievable." Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who viewed the footage with his ministers at the weekly Cabinet meeting, called it "violence for the sake of violence." "I am sure that there is not a person in Israel who can remain indifferent to these scenes, which indicate that we too as a society have failed in the education of these youths," he said. While Israel has experienced isolated incidents of anti-Semitism in the past, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the arrests were the first time an organized cell has been discovered. The eight youths, who immigrated to Israel as children, were arrested over the past two months in connection with at least 15 attacks against religious Jews, foreign workers from Asia, drug addicts, the homeless and gays. A ninth member has fled the country, he said. A court decided Sunday to keep the suspects in custody on assault and vandalism charges. All eight had loose connections to Jewish heritage. They did not identify themselves as Jews and their families had come to Israel to escape hardships in the former Soviet Union, police said.

Under the Israeli "law of return," a person can claim automatic citizenship if a parent or grandparent has Jewish roots. Authorities say that formula allowed many Soviets with questionable ties to Judaism to immigrate here after the Soviet Union disintegrated. About 1 million Soviets have moved here since the early 1990s, making up a significant part of Israel's 7 million citizens. Olmert warned that the acts of the few should not tarnish the great achievements of the Russian immigrants, who include doctors, professors, scientists and Cabinet ministers. "I stress that we should not implicate an entire community and engage in generalizations," he said. Cabinet Minister Eli Yishai of the ultra-Orthodox Shas party said he would propose taking away the suspects' citizenship. Several others suggested amending the law of return. Ironically, Israel doesn't specifically have a hate crimes law, and the case has also drawn calls for new legislation. The arrests drew condemnations from the Anti-Defamation League, a U.S.-based group that fights anti-Semitism, and Israel's Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial. "The tragic irony in this is that they would have been chosen for annihilation by the Nazis they strive to emulate," the ADL said. "While this is a marginal and extreme case, it is nevertheless intolerable," said Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev. The young men covered their faces with their shirts during the court hearing Sunday, revealing Nazi-themed tattoos on their arms. Some of the men had tattoos of the number "88," code for "Heil Hitler" because "H" is the eighth letter of the alphabet. Others wore tattoos of Celtic crosses — a symbol adopted by white supremacists — and barbed wire fences. The gang documented its activities in detail on film and in photographs. Israeli TV stations showed grainy footage of the gang attacking victims with their fists, feet, buckets and bottles, leaving blood-splattered floors in their wake. The youths, whose faces were blurred or covered with Nazi insignia, also posed with German flags and giving the Nazi salute. Authorities also found knives, spiked balls, explosives and other weapons in their possession, Rosenfeld said.

Police discovered the ring after investigating the desecration of two synagogues that had been sprayed with swastikas in the central Israeli city of Petah Tikva more than a year ago, Rosenfeld said. Police computer experts determined the group maintained contacts with neo-Nazi groups abroad, and materials seized include a German-language video about neo-Nazis in the U.S. The group leader was identified as Eli Boanitov, 19, of Petah Tikva — known as "Eli the Nazi," police said. "I won't ever give up. I was a Nazi and I will stay a Nazi. Until we kill them all I will not rest," Boanitov was quoted as saying in a police statement. Amos Herman, an official with the semiofficial Jewish Agency, which works with the government to encourage immigration to Israel, called the gang a group of frustrated, disgruntled youths trying to draw attention by striking at the nation's most sensitive core. "We thought that it would never happen here, but it has and we have to deal with it," he said.
© Associated Press http://www.nytimes.com/pages/aponline/world/
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GOOGLE CRITICIZED FOR HONORING ‘ANTI-ISRAEL' AUTHOR ON ROSH HASHANAH
13/9/2007- The Web search engine Google drew fire today for decorating its home page in a motif that honored a children's author who has drawn accusations of anti-Semitism, Roald Dahl, on the first day of the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah. Google returned its page to the default logo by 2 p.m. after contributors to Web logs criticized the timing of the decoration, which also coincides with the birthday of Dahl. The company acknowledged that it took down the decoration — known as a Google Doodle — in response to complaints raised by members of the Jewish community. "Google has decided to remove its Doodle of Roald Dahl based on user concerns," a spokeswoman for Google said in a statement. While the spokeswoman declined to comment on the source of complaints, people posting this morning on Web logs, including a site hosted by the Times of London, were critical of the company for its timing. Google-owned Web properties became the most-visited sites on the Internet earlier this year, attracting about 552 million unique visitors worldwide in July, according to the Web tracking service comScore. Dahl, who died in 1990, was the author of such popular children's books as "James and the Giant Peach" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." A native of Wales, Dahl was accused of anti-Semitism in the 1980s after he wrote a book review in which he was highly critical of Israel's invasion of Lebanon, saying he was "anti- Israel," according to press reports. "Never before has a state generated so much sympathy around the world and then, in the space of a lifetime, succeeded in turning that sympathy into hatred and revulsion," he wrote in the review of the book "God Cried," according to a 1983 article in the New York Times. "It is as though a group of much-loved nuns in charge of an orphanage had suddenly turned around and started murdering all the children." The remarks caused a stir in Israel, where a television network canceled a popular program that dramatized some of Dahl's writings, claiming he made strong anti-Semitic statements. Posted this morning, the logo on Google's home page depicted cartoons that evoked Dahl's books, including a chocolate bar, a large peach, and a child reading books. The Web giant frequently adds a theme to its home page to mark anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, and special events.
© New York Sun http://www.nysun.com/
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LOOKING FOR SCAPEGOAT, WORLD AGAIN TURNS TO JEWS (Opinion)
By Victor Davis Hanson classicist and historian at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and author.

12/9/2007- Who recently said: "These Jews started 19 Crusades. The 19th was World War (1). Why? Only to build Israel." Some holdover Nazi? Hardly. It was former Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan of Turkey, a NATO ally. He went on to claim that the Jews - whom he refers to as "bacteria" - controlled China, India and Japan, and ran the United States. Who alleged: "The Arabs who were involved in 9/11 cooperated with the Zionists, actually. It was a cooperation. They gave them the perfect excuse to denounce all Arabs." A conspiracy nut? Actually, it was former Democratic U.S. Sen. James Abourezk of South Dakota. He denounced Israel on a Hezbollah-owned television station, adding: "I marveled at the Hezbollah resistance to Israel . . . It was a marvel of organization, of courage and bravery." And finally, who claimed at a United Nations-sponsored conference that democratic Israel was "much worse" than the former apartheid South Africa, and that it "undermines the international community's reaction to global warming"? A radical environmentalist wacko? Again, no. It was Clare Short, a member of the British parliament. She was a secretary for international development under Prime Minister Tony Blair.

A new virulent strain of the old anti-Semitism is spreading worldwide. This hate - of a magnitude not seen in over 70 years - is not just espoused by Iran's loony president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, or radical jihadists. The latest anti-Semitism is also now mouthed by world leaders and sophisticated politicians and academics. Their loathing often masquerades as "anti-Zionism" or "legitimate" criticism of Israel. But the venom exclusively reserved for the Jewish state betrays their existential hatred. Israel is always lambasted for entering homes in the West Bank to look for Hamas terrorists and using too much force. But last week the world snoozed when the Lebanese army bombarded and then crushed the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp, which harbored Islamic terrorists. The world has long objected to Jewish settlers buying up land in the West Bank. Yet Hezbollah, flush with Iranian money, is now purchasing large tracts in southern Lebanon for military purposes and purging them of non-Shiites.

Here at home, "neoconservative" has become synonymous with a supposed Jewish cabal of Washington insiders who hijacked U.S. policy to take us to war for Israel's interest. That our state department is at the mercy of a Jewish lobby is the theme of a recent high-profile book by professors at Harvard University and the University of Chicago. Yet when the United States bombed European and Christian Serbia to help Balkan Muslims, few critics alleged that American Muslims had unduly swayed President Clinton. And such charges of improper ethnic influence are rarely leveled to explain the billions in American aid given to non-democratic Egypt, Jordan or the Palestinians - or the Saudi oil money that pours into American universities. The world likewise displays such a double standard. It seems to care little about the principle of so-called occupied land - whether in Cyprus or Tibet - unless Israel is the accused. Mass murdering in Cambodia, the Congo, Rwanda and Darfur has earned far fewer United Nations' resolutions of condemnation than supposed atrocities committed by Israel. A number of British academics are sponsoring a boycott of Israeli scholars but leave alone those from autocratic Iran, China and Cuba.

There are various explanations for the new anti-Semitism. For many abroad, attacking Jews and Israel is an indirect way of damning its main ally, the United States - by implying that Americans are not entirely evil, just hoodwinked by those sneaky and far more evil Jews. At home, there are obvious pragmatic considerations. Some Americans may find it makes more sense to damn a few million Israelis without oil than it does to offend Israel's adversaries in the Middle East, who number in the hundreds of millions and control nearly half the world's petroleum reserves. Cowardice explains a lot. Libeling Israel won't earn someone a fatwa or a death sentence in the manner comparable criticism of Islam might. There are no Jewish suicide bombers in London, Madrid or Bali. This new face of anti-Semitism is so insidious because it is so well disguised, advanced by self-proclaimed diplomats and academics - and now embraced by the supposedly sophisticated left on university campuses. When national, collective or personal aspirations are not met, it is far easier to blame someone or something rather than to look within for the source of the failure and frustration. More recently, someone must be blamed for getting terrorists (with oil and its profits behind them) mad at us.
That someone is - no surprise - once again Jews. ---
© The Salt Lake Tribune http://www.sltrib.com/
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RABBI ATTACKED IN THE STREET IN FRANKFURT(Germany)
9/9/2007- A 42-year-old rabbi was attacked and seriously wounded Friday night in the western German city of Frankfurt, by an unknown person who stabbed him, police said. Rabbin Zalman Gurevitch of the Chabad-Lubavitch community of Frankfurt, was walking home from the synagogue in the street of the city along with two friends when he was attacked by a man who first threatened him before stabbing him in the stomach. Severely wounded, the rabbi could reach a nearby hospital where he was operated and is said to be in "stable condition." His days are not in danger but he will have to stay hospitalized until after Roch Hachana, the Jewish New Year, his nephew, Rabbi Mendel Gurewitz from Offenbach, told EJP. According to the rabbi’s friends, the aggressor, who was accompanied by two women, was apparently coming “from a southern country.” He first shouted “something in Arabic” at the victim, they told police. When the rabbi asked him what he wanted, the aggressor threatened him in German before stabbing him. After the attack, the aggressor and the two women fled in different directions. The police said they did not believe that the attack was premeditated The police promised a 2.000-euro reward for any indication allowing the arrest of the culprit.

Jewish body reacts
Charlotte Knobloch, president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, visited the victim at the hospital. “I am shocked and angry,” she said. “Our thoughts are going to the victim and his family,” she added. He added:"According to the current state everything points to a spontaneous and individual action, which of course doesn’t diminish the gravity of this crime.” Dieter Graumann, the other vice-president of the Central Council, who is also from Frankfurt, was quoted by the German dpa news agency, as saying: "Indeed, we reject a general suspicion against Muslims because the majority of the Muslims in Germany condemn actsof violence in the name of Islam. But leading representatives of Muslim federations must be asked what they undertake specifically against hatred preachers and the growing radicalization among young Muslims in this country." Around 8,000 Jews live in Frankfurt. Acts of anti-Semitism take place regularly in Germany and are mainly the fact of young sympathizers of the neo-Nazi extreme right. 62 years after the fall of Hitler, the Jewish community of Germany, with 120.000 registered members today, is one of the fastest growing in the world. The recent reopening of a synagogue in Berlin and the inauguration of a new cultural and educational centre in the city are the latest sign of the revitalization of Jewish life in the country.

******Man of Afghan origin arrested over rabbi attack******
14/9/2007- German police said on Friday they have arrested a German of Afghan origin in connection with a knife attack on a rabbi in Frankfurt that outraged the country’s Jewish community. According to reports, he has confessed but said that he didn’t want to kill his victim. The 22-year-old suspect claimed he drew a knife and stabbed the rabbi in self defence after an argument between them turned violent, state prosecutors in the western city said. Police said that they found the man, who was born in Germany to Afghan parents, after he bragged about the incident in an internet forum. The suspect will appear before an investigating judge later on Friday and could face charges of causing grievous bodily harm and attempted manslaughter. The attack occurred on Friday 7 September Rabbi Zalman Gurevitch, co-director of the Chabad-Lubavitch community in Frankfurt was walking home from his synagogue. According to witnesses, the suspect pestered the rabbi before yelling "Dirty Jew -- I’ll kill you" in German and attacking the rabbi with a knife in the stomach. The 42-year-old rabbi required surgery for his wounds, but his life was not in danger. He is still revovering at the hospital The Central Council of Jews in Germany has said the Frankfurt attack was the result of Muslim radicals creating a climate of hatred which could breed violence. "People within the Islamic community in Germany who preach hatred, lay the ground for these attacks," the council’s second deputy president, Dieter Graumann, said. Leaders of the city’s Jewish community said the attack had especially shocked older Jews, who "felt old wounds and scars.” Around 8,000 Jews live in Frankfurt. According to a government report, 1,024 anti-Semitic criminal acts, 2 percent of which were violent, were committed in 2006. The Jewish community in Germany is one of the fastest growing in the world with some 120,000 members, thanks to an influx of Jews from the former Soviet bloc. It is in Frankfurt that Rabbi Zalman Gurevitch, 42, director of the Chabad-Lubavitch community in Frankfurt, was stabbed on Friday night while walking home from his synagogue in the city’s Westend district when he was approached by a young man described by witnesses as being of "southern" in appearance. The man, flanked by two women, spoke to Gurevitch in what sounded like Arabic and then switched to German and said: "You shit Jew, I’m going to kill you." He stabbed the rabbi in the stomach and ran off. Severely wounded, Gurevitch was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery. The attacker is still at large. The act has prompted the German Jewish community to warn that Germany’s young Muslims are becoming radicalized by hate preachers. “For a long time, anti-Semitic acts in Germany were mainly committed by the extreme-right and took place in the eastern part of the country. The attack against a rabbi is the sign of a new form of physical violence,” Korn added. "It’s a symptom of hatred against Jews and of anti-Semitism preached in the Arab and Muslim countries, and broadcast through internet and television stations," he said. Dieter Grauman, another vice-president of the Council, said the Muslim leaders "need to go in the mosques where anti-Semitic hatred is preached and to act.” "We oppose leveling blanket accusations at the Muslim community because the majority of Muslims in Germany comdemn acts of violence in the name of Islam, but leading representatives of Islamic groups have to be asked what they are doing to stop hate preachers and the growing radicalization among young Muslims in this country," he said.

Condemnation
In a press release issued on Monday, the newly founded Cooperation Council of Muslims in Germany (KRM), which says it represents 90 percent of the country's mosques, condemned the aggression against the rabbi. "We condemn this unbelievable act of perfidiousness and hatred. We are all shocked and can not believe that this could take place," Ibrahim El-Zayat, President of the Islamic Community in Germany, declared. Korn, who said that "to be shocked is not enough," called on the Muslims "to oust the faithful who are ready for violence." “This attack was a spontaneous act but one can ask how the young man had a knife to attack the rabbi and to kill him,” he added. Around 8,000 Jews live in Frankfurt and until now they had witnessed only verbal attacks. According to the daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, last Sunday, players of the Jewish football team Makkabi were insulted by a member of the opposite team who shouted: "Jews of shit one forgot to gas you." Korn said special programs for youths are needed in order to better fight anti-Semitism. “Persuasion is more efficient than police dissuasion,” he said.
© European Jewish Press http://www.ejpress.org/
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COUNCIL OF EUROPE CONCERNED ABOUT GROWING ANTI-SEMITISM
Europe's leading human rights body continued preparations Wednesday, September 12, for a campaign against anti-Semitism amid concerns about an increase of anti-Jewish attacks and sentiments in several European countries.

In a statement to BosNewsLife, the Council of Europe (COE) said that the French capital Paris, the Ukrainian capital Kiev and Poland's capital Warsaw will host a day-long 'All Different ? All Equal' campaign event "dedicated to Jewish culture, inter-religious dialogue, and the fight against anti-Semitism" on September 18. Tents are to be placed in the main squares of each city "to show visitors Jewish culture, heritage, history and the importance of eradicating anti-Semitism," the COE said. "The event aims to encourage inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue with open air classrooms, panel discussions, exhibitions, conferences, tours, sessions, meetings, and concerts." It comes at a time when Jewish groups have expressed concerns about anti-Jewish attacks in France, Ukraine, Poland and other countries in both Eastern and Western Europe. In Britain, latest reports suggested that anti-Semitism is at record levels.

Highest Number
"Last year saw the highest number of reported anti-Semitic incidents in Britain since recordkeeping began in 1984 -- a 33 percent increase over the previous year. Anti-Semitic incidents in Britain have doubled in the last decade," said The Jewish Journal, an influential weekly based in Los Angeles, citing several official sources. There have also been reports about the rise of far right groups, including in Hungary, where last month's induction of members of the paramilitary group 'Magyar Garda' or 'Hungarian Guard' has led to international concerns. Jewish groups also condemned the Magyar Garda's usage of the 'Arpad' flag of the medieval Arpad dynasty, which was used by Hungary?s pro-Nazi regime during World War Two, when 600,000 Hungarian Jews were massacred. Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom asked the public to stop using the red-and-white-striped flag, "Out of respect for the dead and the pain of the survivors." In a speech to parliament this week he said that, "those who want to express their opposition to the government or who consider the red-white-green national tricolor insufficient to express themselves as Hungarians, should choose a symbol other than this flag."

Easing Tensions
The COE said it hopes its upcoming campaign will help to ease tensions in Europe. "To organize the event, the cities' Jewish communities and organizations will join forces with the COE's Directorate of Youth and Sport." The COE stressed it receives support from the European Jewish Congress (EJC), the World Jewish Congress' (WJC) Future Generations division, the B'nai B'rith International's European Union Affairs Office, the European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS) and the Conference of European Rabbis (CER). "'All Different - All Equal'" is a youth campaign against discrimination and racism, and in support of human rights, diversity, and participation," the COE added.
© BosNewsLife http://www.bosnewslife.com/
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
****************************************************************************************************************************************
CASW News is a selection of news articles that have been collected by the Magenta foundation from several news sources.
More news items can be found on the thematic page of the Internet Centre Anti Racism Europe: http://www.icare.to/theme.php?theme=1&lang=en
The articles do not represent the opinion of the Magenta foundation.
****************************************************************************************************************************************

_______________________________________________
Casw mailing list
Casw@magenta.nlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8629285072965859682.post-16952294308520859722007-09-14T18:59:00.000-07:002007-09-14T18:59:00.000-07:00Why don't you leave Israel, while my son who is a ...Why don't you leave Israel, while my son who is a soldier in the IDF, is putting his life on the line to protect drek like you?
Go live in Saudi Arabia.
